Without fosters, we could not rescue any animals! As a 100% foster based organization, we have no physical shelter. Fosters open their home up to our animals in need and provide those animals the structure, love, basic training, and medical care if needed in order to prepare them for adoption. Fostering can be a roller coaster of emotions and challenges and House of Misfits Rescue will be there every step of the way. We provide supplies and vetting for our fosters as well as training support and additional care as needed.

Some things we do require of our fosters:

• A visit (if you have not been) to our local open admission shelter to understand where a majority of our animals come from. 

• The ability to separate your foster from your resident animals for a two week isolation/decompression period.

• If children are in the house, they must be animal savvy and constantly monitored around the foster animal.

The above may seem strict, but House of Misfits Rescue takes many animals from open admission shelters or the local streets. These animals could have never lived in a house, had a positive experience with other animals or children, or could have an illness that we are/are not aware of.
